hello welcome back to another episode of broken record my name is ellie i'm your host and today we're going to be talking about playlists so if you know me you know that i have a million bajillion playlists and i have playlists for specific times of day i have playlists for different moods i have playlists for basically anything you can think of so i'm gonna go through a couple of them and let you know if there's any good songs i recommend um so something that really stresses me out is that is naming playlists so i said there's a bunch of untitled playlists right now um and so i'll go through some of those they still have like a purpose but i just don't know what to call them yet so i'm not calling them anything so the first one i play the first like untitled playlist is one that is kind of like like these songs have been stuck in my head so i put them into a playlist so i could play it when they're stuck in my head so some of those songs are i got you think about me taylor swift all too well can i version taylor swift don't shut me down abba um oh my god adele love is a game adele lover taylor swift some fire volume six harry styles to be so lonely harry styles television so far so good rex orange county and best friend rex orange county and so those have been stuck in my head this past month so i made it into a playlist so i can play it and then another untitled playlist that i like listening to is called it's called untitled playlist i just said that and it only has three songs on it because whenever i drive with my sister audrey she has these songs on her playlist and i liked them so i put them into a playlist um it's nelly by dr dog jackie and wilson by hoser hosier and then happier than ever by billy eilish and so those were all stuck in my head so i made that into a playlist and then another playlist i have is called 1980s italy because it's um it's the playlist i play when i go to bed and it originally started off as um some of the songs from the soundtrack of called me by your name which is set in 1980s italy so that's why i called it 1980s italy but then the playlist was too short and i like noticed when it repeated so like i couldn't possibly because i was like oh i already went through the playlist i'm staying up and i'm like stressed out more so i added more songs that so i like couldn't so i like wasn't awake when the playlist repeated um so i added peaches etude by phineas and then i added um the whole little women 2019 soundtrack so now the playlist is super long and i can fall asleep to it and not hear it repeat which is great because when i hear it repeat it like reminds me that i've been trying to go to sleep for x amount of minutes and it stresses me out so yeah and then next one i have is called old christmas which is a bunch of like slower christmas songs that aren't necessarily the poppy versions of like what we hear today so i have a bunch of things from carpenters matt king cole bing crosby frank sinatra um it's all the classics like it came upon a midnight clear have yourself a merry little christmas christmas song oh tandenbaum a little time of bethlehem silent night white christmas you know the basics and then i have an old christmas playlist and then i just have a like pop christmas playlist i guess um these are more like upbeat christmas songs so i have like all i want for christmas is you by mariah carey i have last christmas by wham i have santa tell me by ariana grande i have christmas rapping by the waitresses i have mistletoe by justin beaver um little st nick by the beach boys rocking around the christmas tree by brenda lee and you get the point but so i have like an upbeat christmas playlist and slow christmas playlist which i think is really nice because when i listen to a playlist it's like i don't want to hear a song that's like really upbeat and then i get really peppy and then i hear a really sad song and it like kills the mood so i have two separate occasions um and then the next playlist i have is called dancing in the kitchen which is a bunch of like old jazzy like songs that like that like i think would be playing in a movie when like a couple was dancing in the kitchen and so it's love you and rose by edith kai um this magic moment by benny king sunny by bobby hen bobby heb sorry the way you look tonight by frank sinatra my girl by the temptations we belong together richie valens these arms of mine otis redding i don't know why but i do by clarence frogman henry so you get the gist it's like a bunch of old old-timey cute love songs that i love to listen to um and then i have a playlist called burnt and turnt and i play this whenever my mom and dad are in the car because they don't like listening to my music but there's certain songs that i like listening to that they also like listening to so this is a compilation of all the songs that i like listening to and it has songs from like little big town and um there's 80 songs and 90 songs there's also some taylor swift in there and there's mamma mia and like it's just a whole variety and it's a hoot to play in the car i recommend creating a playlist that has like mass popularity so like whenever you're driving a car it's not stressful you can just play that playlist and then everyone will know at least one song um and then my next playlist is called envious i don't really know why i call it envious it's just cool um it's like a bunch of like rock songs it's like smells like teen spirit and kind of you are from nirvana and halo and in one year and ain't no rest for the wicked from cage the elephant and back in black by acdc and bad reputation by joan jets and shoot to thrill by acdc and haylock by another so it's a bunch of rock songs and it's super fun it's like it's a good place to like dance to um and then my next and last playlist that i'll talk about is called marvell which is a play on marvel the company like marvel movies and it's basically just a bunch of like 80s and 90s songs that were in the marvel movies so i have just a girl by no doubt that one was in captain marvel and left hand free by alt j was in civil war and back in black was in iron man and blitzkrieg bot was in i think um either thor or um civil war i don't want to say and then there's i want you back which was in guardians of the galaxy and what else there's also ain't no mountain high enough which was in i think end game and there's just a whole bunch of like oh there's also it's been a long long time um which is like the iconic captain america song and yeah so i have that playlist and and then i also have a playlist called junk drawer this is the last one i'll talk about i know i said it for the last one but this is really the last one i have a playlist called junk drawer and basically whenever i make a playlist i add the like songs in the playlist to my junk drawer playlist so if i ever feel like deleting the playlist that i made i can still like find the song that i had in the playlist if that makes sense it's just like a big hub of all the songs that were in previous playlists of mine and so it's four hours long which isn't that long anything about it if it was all my previous playlists i haven't updated in a while so that's probably why but yeah it has a whole variety it has disney music it has bands it has like slower music it has soundtracks it's like a big hot mess but it's helpful because then i can just look at it and be like oh okay i like that song so yeah thank you so much for listening um this is kind of just like a hodgepodge of an episode but playlists are really fun and they're super they're super cool ways to like compile music and like create different moods and stuff and i think they're super cool and yeah thank you so much for listening to my show broken record on every tuesday at 6 p.m i'm ellie i'm your host and you can find this podcast on any podcast streaming platform just search ok my broken record and you'll find me and yeah thank you so much for listening to 89 the bridge you
