Please God Not People//Divine Empowerment with Mercy

Recognize that pleasing everyone is an impossible task. There will always be individuals whom you cannot satisfy, regardless of your efforts or kindness towards them. However, the Bible reminds us that we are not obligated to please everyone. Proverbs 29:25 (LB) warns, "It is dangerous to be concerned with what others think of you." When we become preoccupied with the opinions of others, we fall into an emotional trap. Even Jesus Himself did not strive to please everyone. He prioritized pleasing the One who sent Him. In John 5:30 (LB), Jesus states, "I only seek to please Him who sent me." This serves as a powerful reminder that our ultimate focus should be on pleasing God, rather than attempting to gain the approval of every person we encounter. It is crucial to understand that even God, in His infinite wisdom and power, cannot please everyone. Just as one person desires rain while another wishes for sunshine, conflicting preferences and opinions will always exist. Therefore, it would be foolish to attempt what even God cannot accomplish. Instead, we should surrender those burdensome relationships or situations to God, trusting Him to handle them according to His perfect will. Many Christians find themselves in challenging circumstances, living with individuals who make life difficult. They may feel guilty for failing to make peace with these individuals, despite their best efforts. However, it is essential to realize that the difficulty may lie with the other person's nature rather than any shortcomings on your part. In such cases, it is crucial to surrender that person to God and shift your focus towards pleasing Him. By aligning our desires and actions with God's will, we can find peace and freedom from the burden of trying to please everyone. Let us remember that our ultimate goal is to please the One who created us, and in doing so, we can find contentment and fulfillment in our lives.
