Please Me A Feeling

from BDJ's Cellar Full of Remixes · host BDJ

Please Please Me take 1 is "the one that got away". No recordings of the original Please Please Me survive, and it is likely that none ever existed. it is supposed to be significantly different from the released Please Please Me; George Martin claimed that he advised (demanded) that they speed it up. Lennon said he wrote it with Roy Orbison in mind; the Beatles toured with Orbison, and they repeatedly admitted that they admired his songwriting and singing. So Please Please Me was probably written "Pretty Woman" like. I've Got a Feeling has a structure similar to Please Please Me, and is nice and slow. And they match quite well. What was Paul's inspiration for I've Got a Feeling ?Probalbly not Orbison, so perhaps he set out to write a Lennon song ? Not unlikely, they dug up several 'oldies' during the Let It Be sessions, so this one might have originated that way........
