Pleasure Chemical Vacation Planning (Tom Walma)

from Creativity Wasted · host Tom Walma

Idea: To plan vacations around the science of brain chemistry, such as the concept that it takes a few hours or days to fully replenish pleasure-inducing brain chemicals. For example, if it takes a few days to replenish a brain pleasure chemical like dopamine, in the meantime, you could schedule leisure activities which require different brain pleasure chemicals, such as a rollercoaster which requires lots of adrenaline but not much dopamine. Also: varying your schedule so your body can't predict its future state and level you out (i.e. make you bored) Originally from Creativity Wasted episode 50 "Spruce Rice" (twitter.com/LordBluntsWorth) Avery Sommerfeld (facebook.com/crazeecomedy, YouTube: Funny News https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCN6nBbMFIE03wqFz5PwAA3w) Tom Walma (twitter.com/thomaswalma) Recorded at Podcast Detroit (https://PodcastDetroit.com)
