Les 16, 17 et 18 janvier 2013, Prince va se produire dans un bar bien connu de Minneapolis, le Dakota Jazz Club and restaurant, en s’entourant chaque soir de musiciens différents .C’est ainsi que le 18 janvier, les 300 personnes présentes vont voir arriver sur scène : Ida Nielsen à la basse, Hannah Ford à la batterie et Donna Grantis à la guitare, pour un show électrique et rock.Personne ne sait encore qu’il vient d’assister à la naissance du nouveau groupe de Prince : 3rd eye girl.Dès le mois d’avril, Prince et son girl power trio débutent la tournée « live at loud » au canada et aux usa. Juste avant un passage remarqué au festival de Montreux durant l’été.La trêve discographique amorcée en 2010 va se terminer en septembre 2014, avec la sortie simultanée de 2 albums. Art Official Age, et PlectrumElectrum.Ce dernier est signé Prince and 3rd eye girl.
