Friday was our annual Pledge Day in support of the Calgary Children's Foundation. We check in with Chair of the Board John Vos, to get an update on just how incredibly generous Calgarians were during this year's Radiothon! We'll discuss the findings of a new study with Dr. Ted Jablonski, our "on-call family physician". Suicide rates among Canadian men are 3 times higher than Canadian women. Akash Asif, Strategy & Operations Director at the Centre for Suicide Prevention and lead for “BuddyUp, joined us to discuss the program and the need. Hockey Canada's 2021-2022 Discrimination Report has been released, outlining over 900 cases of on-ice discrimination in the past year alone. We caught up with Laura Robinson, Award-Winning Filmmaker, Author and Journalist to discuss the report and the controversy plaguing the organization. And, on this Motivational Monday we chatted with meditation teacher and hip-hop musician Ofosu Jones-Quartey about his new book called "LOVE YOUR AMAZING SELF", and his unique way of teaching us about mindfulness.
