PLR 23.5: PREVIEW: The Soviet War in Afghanistan

For this week's half episode, we are providing a sneak preview into our full interview with Mark Galeotti about the Soviet War in Afghanistan-- the pre-history to the American war. We talk about its causes, how it played out, and whether we can draw comparisons between the Soviet experience and the American experience.  Mark is a professor at the University College of London, School of Slavic and East European Studies. He is the author of "Afghanistan, the Soviet Union's Last War" put out by Routledge Press, and a plethora of other books about Russia and the Soviet Union.  If you want to listen to the full episode (and you should) sign up to become a patron for as little as a dollar a month. We have a lot more bonus content on there, and much, much more to come! www.patreon.com/plrpodcast
