PM Justin Trudeau Discusses Racism in Policing, Provides COVID-19 Update – June 8, 2020
from Depictions Media · host Michael Clogs
Speaking outside his home in Ottawa, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau provides an update on the federal government's response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic, including plans to ease border restrictions to allow for the reunification of immediate family members. The change would allow immediate family members of Canadian citizens and permanent residents to visit the country subject to strict conditions. In his remarks, Prime Minister Trudeau also addresses ongoing concerns about systemic racism and discrimination by Canada's police services against Black and Indigenous Canadians; the prime minister says he will consult with the provinces about the possibility of implementing body-worn cameras for police officers in an effort to subject the interactions of law-enforcement personnel to additional scrutiny.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/depictions-media--4208927/support.
