PNM San Fernando East Elections Heat Up | Trinidad and Tobago News

San Fernando East’s PNM is in the thick of internal elections—with 11 of 30 party groups already voting, and the rest set to finish by Sept 25. This is all leading up to the party’s big November convention. A major twist? Hazel Manning, widow of former PM Patrick Manning and mom of current MP Brian Manning, is running to be constituency executive chairman—a role that’ll be filled after the Women’s and Youth League elections. The seat is the last to settle its internal affairs before the convention. Behind the scenes, tensions flared between Manning and former exec Patricia Alexis, who stepped down after a public scolding from party leadership. Meanwhile, the Trincity-Maloney unit holds its own election today, following a canceled meeting and dues dispute that’s now reportedly resolved.
