Pocomucho Daily — Thursday 30 July 2026

from Pocomucho Daily

Thursday, July 30th, 2026. I'm your host Ben D M Z. From Ibiza, this is Pocomucho Daily. Mau P is planting his flag on Ibiza's midweek. The Dutch producer kicks off his Baddest Behaviour residency at Pacha Ibiza on Wednesday August 5th, running every Wednesday through to October 7th. He'll be going all night for the debut, and this is the residency's second summer at the venue after its launch last season. And speaking of Ibiza — Chinois is heading into August with no signs of slowing down. After running parties every single day in July, the venue keeps the momentum going with a stacked guest roster that includes Hernán Cattáneo, The Blessed Madonna, Deep Dish, and Kerri Chandler, among others. Serious selections across the board. Sad news now, and significant. Kavinsky has died at the age of 50. The French DJ and producer, real name Vincent Belorgey, passed away at his home in Paris on Tuesday evening. The news was confirmed by French newspaper Le Parisien. He's best known for his 2010 track Nightcall, which became one of the defining moments of that era. The Paris prosecutor's office has opened an inquiry into the circumstances of his death. A genuine loss for electronic music. Aphex Twin's Drukqs is getting the anniversary treatment. The sprawling 30-track album is set for a 25th anniversary vinyl reissue, arriving across multiple physical formats on October 30th. One of the most singular records in electronic music — and now you'll be able to own it in style. Cloonee and Prospa are back together, and this one carries real weight. Their new single Good Girl features Tristan Henry and is the first track from Cloonee's forthcoming debut album, out now on Good Music For Bad People and Hellbent Records. The pressure is on — their last collaboration was a big one — but debut album mode is a different kind of moment entirely. Appetite On The Farm returns for its fifth edition, heading to Kelvedon Hall in Brentwood, Essex across two days — Saturday and Sunday, August 29th and 30th. Jamie Jones, Max Dean, Shanti Celeste, Skream, SG Lewis, and Traumer are among the names on the lineup. A proper late-summer send-off in the countryside. And a broader social note — a report this week looks at the growing number of people sneaking onto festival grounds, driven by the rising cost of tickets. It frames it as a questionable workaround that's becoming more and more common. Make of that what you will — though the festivals certainly have a view on it. Finally, a useful one for the DJs listening — Berghain and Ostgut Ton affiliate Ryan Elliott has shared the five online newsletters he uses to find music. Worth a look if your USB is a mess and you know it. Now, where are we going today in Ibiza? Over at Destino, it's the Pacha Icons outdoor party — Solomun, Michael Bibi, and Butch. Hard to argue with that lineup under the open sky. At 528, La Discothèque brings FAC51: The Haçienda to Ibiza, with Derrick Carter, Felix Da Housecat, Graeme Park, and Ultra Naté performing live. A full Manchester pilgrimage, on the island. Chinois has Defected tonight — Carl Craig, DJ Gregory, and HoneyLuv on the bill. Deep house and Detroit in the same room. And DC10 hosts Solid Groove with Ahmed Spins, Dennis Cruz, Pawsa, Route 94, The Ghost, and Toman. That one's going late. That's it folks! Curated by me, narrated by my AI voice.
