Pocomucho Daily — Tuesday 14 July 2026

from Pocomucho Daily

Tuesday, July 14th, 2026. I'm your host Ben D M Z. From Ibiza, this is Pocomucho Daily. John Digweed is dropping a live recording from the Twilo reunion — and if you know, you know how significant that is. Captured on March 6th at the original location, 530 West 27th Street in New York, Digweed played for five hours at the revival of one of the most mythologised clubs in dance music history. The release hits on July 24th, spread across four CDs, with four continuous mixes available to stream exclusively on Bandcamp. A new campaign called Raise The Bar has launched with the aim of improving how artists are treated at music venues. The initiative takes direct aim at large corporate venue operators, with organisers stating that venues owned by what they describe as the Live Nation monopoly have made poor practices too common across the country. DNA in Munich will close at the end of September after nearly three years. The city loses a fixture of its nightlife — another reminder of how difficult it remains to keep independent club spaces alive right now. A Boiler Room event in New York this past weekend was met with protests from activists connected to the Boycott Room campaign, who demonstrated on Friday against the organiser's ownership structure. The situation escalated, with reports of activists being attacked and trampled at the event. Change The Beat, the global non-profit supporting women and gender expansive artists in electronic music, has pledged 300 label signings for women and gender expansive electronic artists by 2028. The organisation is expanding its mission to build pathways through education, mentorship, industry access, live events and release programmes. Australian producer, singer and DJ Pretty Girl is back after a deliberate year away. She's returned with the Body Step EP, released via her own label earthside, and has announced a new signing to Red Light Management alongside it. Lee Burridge has released Fading Out — his first solo original production since 2021. Out now via All Day I Dream, the eight-minute track blends deep house grooves with ethereal vocals and organic percussion. Anjunadeep is bringing its Open Air series to New York City's Central Park for the first time, scheduled for July 18th — that's this Saturday. Marlon Hoffstadt — also known as DJ Daddy Trance — will release his album Das Ist Daddy on August 7th. The first single, Party People, dropped on June 25th. The album is described as a tribute to club culture. Ministry of Sound is the subject of a new anthology revisiting the founding years of the institution. Ministry of Sound: Anthology promises to go inside one of the most influential clubs and labels in global dance music history. In Paris today — it being Bastille Day — the southern French electronic music festival Basses Fréquences is setting up at Le Hasard Ludique for an open air party on the rails to mark the national holiday with Manchester duo Blasha & Allatt! Dave Gardner has written about how 36db.live built what they're calling the Sasha Environment — a production education platform built around access to real Ableton projects from artists with defined workflows. It's a different angle from the usual preset-pack cycle, and worth a read if you're into the production side of things. Check it out! And tonight in Ibiza — Hï hosts East End Dubs presents Eastenderz, with Archie Hamilton, Paco Osuna and Franky Rizardo. Over at Pacha, it's RÜFÜS DU SOL with ANOTR. 528 has Pikes Presents Love.House.Disco. — Groove Armada on DJ duties, plus Joe Goddard, Eats Everything and Bushwacka!. And Chinois hosts Appetite with Luuk Van Dijk back to back with Laidlaw, Elliot Schooling and Liam Palmer, Isaac Carter, Tommy Gold, and Yass and Mali. That's it folks! Curated by me, narrated by my AI voice. For the human side, check out our weekly dance music selections, Ibiza club playlists and our DJ mixes. All links in the description.
