Pod. 171 Nandha TALKS ABOUT 9 YEARS BEHIND BARS FOR SOMEONE ELSE’S CRIME
from The Friday Podcast · host Makna Talks
In today’s episode of Makna Talks, Nandha talks about the ugly truth of prisons, being heartless and second chances. #BayangkanJikaKamu menjalani masa pandemi dalam satu ruangan kecil dengan 30 orang, sulit mendapat akses kesehatan, harus bertahan selama bertahun-tahun, apa yang akan kamu rasakan? In this episode, we had the opportunity to sit down with Nandha, a former drug convict, to tell her reality behind bars. She shared with us how she became convicted of something she didn’t do, the overcrowded cells, and the treatments that are far from just. The overcrowding issue is caused mainly by the high rates of drug-related convictions. It caused numerous problems ranging from cramped space, poor sanitation, poor air circulation, and a lack of nutritious food intake, leading to riots. We can only imagine how it adds up with the pandemic we’re facing. Listen to her story on our Spotify.
