Pod#66(6) - Jinn Stories 5 - Delhi Horror!

from TPR Pod · host TPR Pod

This one's a special one, ladies and gentlemen. We're joined by Jatin, somebody from Delhi we were lucky to find on Twitter when he posted a great thread on his city's horror stories. You know how we are when it comes to Jinn stories, horror stories and the like. But this episode became much more than just a discussion about scary stories. Jatin turned out to be quite the interesting character, deeply and obviously in love with the city he was from. We talked about the stories, but we talked a lot about Delhi, its people, its different avenues and locales. All in all a great time. We will definitely be looking to ask him to return. Also, this is our second episode with the new recording setup. This time the audio lags aren't as obvious, but the internet was really not cooperating and the video quality wasn't great for most people on the show. We'll keep investigating. Jatin's thread: https://twitter.com/TheDilliMirror/status/1261869940363218944 Books discussed: 1. William Darlymple's "City of Djinns - A Year in Delhi" 2. Aanchal Malhotra's "Remnants of a Separation" Things discussed in this episode: 1. Why Jatin put together these stories 2. Delhi's history of tales and storytelling traditions 3. The story with the call center ghost 4. Delhi's various muhallas 5. The story with the white well in the forest 6. The story with the ghost hunter 7. The impact of the thread and people's responses Find all our previous episodes on SoundCloud, Spotify & Apple Podcasts and follow us all on Twitter! Links to everything below!
