PodBitz- Staying Close while Keeping your Distance

from Pod Sound School Hosted by Stephen Davis

In this episode of PodBitz, we announce we’ll be speaking at the Independent Podcast Virtual Conference on March 28th and 29th. We’ll be speaking on the benefits of doing market research before launching your podcast and how to craft an effective YouTube strategy for your Podcast. We give the spotlight to one of our Facebook Community members, Cher Kretz. She is in lockdown like the majority of us, and she is taking this time to create her podcast. Our daughter is using her free time to create a podcast with one of her school friends. Two Tiny Latinas in a Big White World. Coming at you soon! Registration for our online course, Smart & Sexy Podcast Launch, will open April 3, 2020. Make sure you get on the waitlist. We’re only taking a few students. Why Smart and Sexy?! Smart because you will come out the other side with all the technical knowledge and skills to produce a high-quality podcast. Sexy with a strong branding and social media presence that highlights what is most uniquely you. Your Sexy. This is an intensive six-week course that will hold you accountable and keep you on track and learning. But don’t get scared we’ll make it super fun and easy! In this week in podcasting, we bring you the latest improvements and updates for Anchor, Google Podcasts, and Kyrie, a new tool to create landing pages. Our podcast recommendations for this week are Brene Brown’s brand-new podcast Unlocking Us, and But Why: A Podcast for Curious Kids. We are so hooked to these two podcasts we had to share. For the tip of the week, we talk about the best practices when recording your podcast remotely. Make sure your co-host or guests are in a quiet space to avoid background noise. Enable `Do Not Disturb` to avoid phone calls and notifications from interrupting your recording. (A big one for us!) Ensure that each guest has a stable WiFi connection. Close other programs or apps. Outline episodes to stay on track.
