The race between the biggest media and entertainment companies to add streaming subscribers, knowing consumers will only pay for a limited number of them, is finished. Disney lost 4 million Disney+ subscribers in the quarter, most of which came from India. At some point, the industry will need a new growth narrative. The most obvious candidate is gaming.
