Podcast #165 Importance of celebrating your photographic successes

from The Perceptive Photographer

Photography can be hard, and it is easy to get discouraged. It always seems like there is so much to learn and so many people out there doing amazing things with a camera. I sometimes find myself getting discouraged and struggling to make sense of my practice. I have learned that one of the most important aspects of a creative life is to celebrate your successes.  If you spend time thinking and celebrating how far you have come in your journey from where you started rather than obsessing only about the future, you might find that you are better able to move your creative practice forward. In the celebration of our successes not only can we find the motivation to continue and the impact of happy dopamine in our brains, but we also get to stand back and appreciate how much we have grown as photographers.  This week's podcast is all about why you sometimes need to step back and celebrate how amazing you are, even if the journey is never over, and some ways to meaningfully celebrate your photography growth.
