Send a textWhat I want to discuss with you today is whether it might be possible for robots to have feelings. Nobody knows for sure, but I have thought about it and talked with many people about it. This is my idea. I am curious to know how you see it.To begin with, I might need to ask a very strange question. Can humans actually have feelings? Everyone I ask this question will naturally say, of course, humans can have feelings. But if you think about it carefully, we really only know for sure about ourselves. We naturally assume that other people also have feelings, and if we thought otherwise, it would be a horrible world. But we are only absolutely certain about ourselves. And it will probably be exactly the same with robots. If a robot claims to have feelings and we cannot prove otherwise, do we still have a choice? If we then deny its feelings, we would actually be discriminating against the robot.
