Islam is intertwined with the government and legal systems in every Middle Eastern country to a greater or lesser extent. As a result business activities, contracts, and relationships operate differently in this area of the world. Understanding the particular combination of religions, ethnic groups, forms of government, and legal systems in each country  is essential for success. Understanding some of the fundamentals is a good place to begin.
