Market Update (June 2021)  Body: - With the market continuing to shift, we are seeing buyers change their mind when submitting firm offers. - What does signing under seal mean? Where did signing under seal originate? - Would the signature mean something different if it wasn’t signed under seal? - If a buyer signs under seal, can the offer be revoked before the irrevocability time/date? what if the offer is conditional? - When I first got my real estate licence, 14 years ago, I had the privilege of being mentored by a 2nd generation, and uber successful broker/owner in a small brokerage firm in Toronto - I was his personal driver for the first 8 months - 8 months gave me a 10 year head start in my real estate career - business and sales are a century old profession, and its always easier to learn from other successful professionals as opposed to reinventing the wheel - when the opportunity presented itself to own Sutton Summit realty, I was eager to jump onboard and give back, what was once given to me by my mentor - mentorship creates a culture within the organization that is very powerful - Mentors will come and go from your life, and you should recognize where their strengths and weaknesses lie - I have 3 mentors in my life: Matthew Stock I met Matthew while I was working on my very first deal I admire his relentless work ethic, and his simplest but straight forward approach to money and business. He is my source of strength when it comes to logical issues that I need guidance and counselling on, and he is always there to listen and to help me problem solve Raymond Reichert Raymond and I met on our table tennis league. We were teammates, and I could never understand why he could always block my crazy topspin shots, which very few people could handle. I later found out (10 years later) that he played on the junior OTTA team, and his brother was also an ultra aggressive topspin looper, which he played with ALL his life, and beat easily Raymond owns RR enterprises, a world player in the telecom industry, which Raymond wrote from scratch and received the top ISO rating for the fewest bugs in over 400 million lines of code. His program currently controls the whole operations of Columbia, and in the past his clients included Cogeco, and 46 other cable companies in Ontario. Raymond is a genius when it comes to sound logic, reading people and has vast experience in running a world class international technology company Shawn Sheikh -Shawn is the finance manager at Ready Honda, and has sold over 422 cars in 2020. His 'out of the box' marketing and 'inside sales’ are brilliant. He has 100s of 5 star google reviews His clients wait hours to buy a car from Shawn, and he has not taken a single client on a test drive in over 5 years. Shawn constantly invests in himself and is a big reader. Constantly studying NLP, sales, and self help books. Being around Shawn is energizing and we constantly push each other to new heights. - being a mentor to someone in your life is equally important. - I often caution agents, that having someone at the management level that can be a mentor to them will most likely be a key differentiating factor in their career
