To address the sanitary crisis, a social enterprise called Blossom Care Solutions is going on a mission-drive to educate young girls about their menstrual health. The NGO has recently opened a site in Gugulethu that provides employment opportunities for women in the area, as well as supplying sanitary pads to girls in need. The organisation's Managing Director, Shamiela Sarlie says period poverty impacts millions of young girls and women in the country daily, however, there are avenues to combat the social challenge while simultaneously contributing towards job creation...
