By Newsbreak Producer Matthew Veeran - Violent crimes against women and children remain in the spotlight in South Africa, with numerous instances occurring on a daily basis. This week we brought you a story from Soshanguve, where residents there north of Pretoria say the crime level is forcing them to live in fear - even in their own homes. This after a five-year-old boy was fatally wounded when his father's bakkie was hijacked outside their home on Friday night. It is alleged that Junior Phalane had gone out to welcome his father when he arrived home. Police say a group of armed men fired shots wounding the boy in the process. He died later in hospital. National Operations Manager at Childline South Africa Kapesi Antony Chakuwamba says the latest incident is an unfortunate and sad reflection of crime in our country...
