By Newsbreak Producer Tracy Valaydham - An Independent Crime Analyst agrees with the recent findings that police were ill equipped and lacked proper resources to deal with and manage the 2021 July Unrest. This after the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) released findings stating in its investigation into the July 2021 unrest has proved that police failed to detect the planning and execution. The report further found that police were ill prepared for the unrest and there is no evidence linking the unrest to the former president Jacob Zuma's arrest. However, National Police Spokesperson Athlenda Mathe says that police have been open about the fact that they had no prior intelligence to prevent the violent unrest. Chris de Kock says in going forward, government needs to take a closer look at it's at its legislation pertaining to looting, so the country does not go through a re-occurrence in the future...
