#PODCAST DA to lodge complaint with SAHRC on SASSA grant payment failure

By Newsbreak Producer, Tashlan Naidoo - The DA will lodge a complaint with the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) requesting an investigation into SASSA's recent failure to pay social grant beneficiaries on time. This follows a Post Bank glitch left about a half million SASSA beneficiaries destitute after they failed to receive their monthly stipend. The glitch was caused when Post Bank upgraded its payment system. Communications Minister, Mondli Gugubele removed the entire Postbank board of directors. He said the move followed a KPMG forensic investigation report that suggested that the Postbank continued to use service providers that were not lawfully contracted.
