UN CAFE GUATEMALTEQUE COMMERCIALISE EN CIRCUIT COURT- UN MODELE ECONOMIQUE INNOVANT Le Guatemala, c’est la route Maya et des paysages à couper le souffle mais c’est aussi une longue tradition du café : récolte manuelle, fermentation contrôlée, séchage des grains au soleil et sélection selon leur uniformité, leur couleur, grandeur et densité. Cultivé au-delà de 1400 mètres d’altitude la café Chorti possède un arôme intense et une consistance idéale dans la tasse. On retrouve différentes variétés de plantes comme le Bourbon, le Catuai ou encore le Catura. Les cerises de café sont récoltées de Décembre à Mars. Présent au Guatemala depuis 1994 pour mener différents projets de coopération, Dimitri Lecarte a été l’une des chevilles ouvrières de la coopérative. En 2006, il rentre en Belgique avec son épouse guatémaltèque pour constituer une société de commercialisation directe du café, dépendant directement de la coopérative guatémaltèque. L’objectif était déjà de créer un lien direct entre les producteurs chorti et les consommateurs belges et européens. Info : https://www.chorti.be/
