This follows a meeting between eThekwini Municipality officials and the ERPM over the ongoing water billing issue. According to the City's Indigent Policy, residents whose properties fall below 250-thousand-rand in value are eligible for six kiloliters of free water per month. However, due to a technical error, about 49-thousand ineligible ratepayers were credited with the free water, which they were later billed for. ERPM chairperson, Asad Gaffar says residents should seek proper guidance on whether they are liable for the debt or not before signing any documents...
