This follows a meeting between eThekwini Municipality officials and the ERPM over the ongoing water billing issue. According to the City's Indigent Policy, residents whose properties fall below 250-thousand-rand in value are eligible for six kiloliters of free water per month. However, due to a technical error, about 49-thousand ineligible ratepayers were credited with the free water, which they were later billed for.
