By Newsbreak Intern Ayanda Chule - Over 14,000 women and girls are victims of grievous bodily harm (GBH) assault incidents in South Africa. That's according to the second quarter crime statistics between July and September 2023. The crime statistics further shows that far too many women and children feel they are not safe around people that they know and trust. This as 4,726 rape incidents took place at either the home of the rape victim or the perpetrator's home, which was known to victim, such as family member, friend or neighbor. Vanessa Chetty, Managing Director of Faith Based Child Protection Movement, says much more needs to be done as the number of GBV cases continue to rapidly increase despite multiple awareness campaigns...
