Podcast Firstlook: Madballs

One of the very first podcasts I ever recorded for Everything 80s was about Madballs. I took it down years ago because it was too short and didn't capture everything I wanted.I'm hoping this episode does. This is the full history of Madballs, the unique toy/ball that created quite the dent in the toy market (and on heads) when it was released in 1986.It was a time in the toy industry when gross-out products reigned supreme, and Madballs capitalized on it while also becoming one of the year's hottest toys. We'll look back on the creation of Madballs, their connection to Care Bears, the controversy and banning in some schools, and we even get some insights from a Madballs designer. So I hope you enjoy this early, and ad-free first look at one of the definitive toys of the 1980s!-Jamie
