This as the IFP in the province has successfully motioned the eThekwini Municipal Council to begin the process of regularising tenants, who have been occupying homes as part of the programme. Tenants have for years entered into rent-to-own agreements with landlords in the area. However, the process of receiving title deeds after the agreement ends has become a bone of contention for many tenants. IFP councillor in Phoenix, Jonathan Annipen explains what this motion will now mean for both tenants and their landlords...
