#PODCAST Gumede's corruption trial continues in the Durban High Court

By Newsbreak Producer, Taliesha Naidoo - The fraud and corruption trial of former eThekwini mayor Zandile Gumede and 21 co-accused is continuing in the Durban High Court today. This is in connection with a 320-million-rand Durban Solid Waste removal tender. The State is continuing to lead evidence with a retired official of the municipality's Durban Solid Waste unit. Last week, the court postponed the matter for the State to properly arrange its documents that are exhibits in this matter. Resuming this morning, the State has spent the better part of the morning confirming that the current witness- the retired official of the municipality's DSW unit- signed the contracts for waste collection and cleaning in several wards in Umlazi over a 36-month period.
