However, for many victims of domestic violence, it will be a day like any other – one filled with fear, control, violence and even death. This Valentine's Day, Gun Free SA in partnership with other organisations will launch the Removing the Trigger campaign, which aims to strengthen the rights and safety of victims from gun-related domestic violence. The campaign was created after Jessica Shah, the mother of Sasha-Lee Shah, approached Gun Free SA to seek justice for her daughter. The 25-year-old Sasha-Lee was shot and killed by her ex-boyfriend in October 2022 despite having a protection order against him.
