The Bill was passed by both Houses of Parliament last year. One of the main aims of the Bill is to provide universal health care to all South African citizens. Meanwhile, the Hospital Association of South Africa (HASA) says the NHI will hamper, rather than promote, access to quality healthcare for citizens in the country. Executive Head of Public Affairs at HASA, Mark Peach says the President and the Cabinet have disregarded their views and advice regarding the bill, which is regrettable...
