By Newsbreak Producer Hoosen Ebrahim - Health Minister, Dr Joe Phaahla has confirmed that South Africa has recorded its first confirmed death from Mpox, formerly known as Monkeypox. A 37-year-old man died as a result of the virus earlier this week after being admitted to a hospital in Gauteng three days earlier. The Minister briefed the country saying all five cases recorded in the country this year - another in Gauteng, and three in KwaZulu-Natal - were classed as severe and required hospitalization.
