The Port of Durban has increased tug availability to an average of six tugs as of December and expect the delivery of three second-hand tugs in the first quarter of 2024. This comes after heavy delays and congestion experienced this year, which resulted in vessels piling up at the port. Transnet's Managing Executive for the Eastern Region, Moshe Motlohi, says the six operational tugs play a vital role in adding the required tug capacity and availability in the improvement of operational efficiencies at the port...
