TankQyou is een vernieuwend mobiliteitsplatform in combinatie met de exploitatie van de traditionele tankstations. Door het aanbieden van aanvullende diensten naast de brandstof is de ambitie om door middel van een digitaal platform te voorzien in de volledige mobiliteitsbehoefte van consumenten en zakelijke klanten. Bedrijf TanQyou (TY) is in 2015 opgericht door Jan Harmen Akkerman. Ontstaan van het bedrijf is terug te voeren op de kans die Jan Harmen zag als vastgoed ontwikkelaar om naast zijn ict bedrijf ICIT een tankstation te bouwen op een strategische plek in Franeker. Vanuit zijn ervaring en kennis wilde hij niet alleen een traditioneel tankstation neerzetten maar meer een strategische invulling geven aan de mobiliteitsvraag. Om schaalgrootte te krijgen en om platform ook te kunnen blijven ontwikkelen is er gekozen voor snelle uitbreiding van het aantal tankstations.
