According to the latest crime statistics, 64 cases of cash-in-transit heists were reported in the first 3 months of 2023. This is 11 more cases than the same period last year, indicating a 20.8% increase. According to the latest CIT Association of SA, the industry has seen a total of 249 cash-in- transit robberies across the country in the period January to October, compared to just 191 in 2022 and 188 in 2021. de Kock says the increase ahead of the festive period is as a result of larger volumes of cash being transported...
