This comes as Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana projected national debt to rise from R4.8 trillion in 2023/24 to 5.2 trillion in the next financial year. Godongwana tabled the Medium-Term Budget Policy Statement at Parliament yesterday. It showed that debt to GDP is expected to stabilise at 77% by 2025/26.
