By Newsbreak Producer Matthew Veeran - Believed to be the first of its kind, academics in Port Elizabeth have launched the "Grade R Cybersafety Project" - to create awareness among children about cyber bullying, inappropriate content and stranger danger. It specifically focuses on Grade R learners – who may or may not be online yet – to encourage good digital practices and etiquette. The academics also referred to a global survey done recently, which revealed that South Africa has the fourth highest rate of cyberbullying worldwide. Professor Kerry-Lynn Thomson, Director of the Nelson Mandela University's Centre for Research in Information and Cyber Security says the project uses age-appropriate content like animated videos and worksheets, to teach children about cybersafety in a fun, interactive manner...
