Mark Beckman retired last year after an 18-year run as executive director of the Montana High School Association. In all, he served 25 years at the MHSA and 40 years in education. He was a fair-and-steady hand leading the MHSA, and he oversaw the addition of high school baseball and girls' high school wrestling. He also guided Montana high school sports through the pandemic and the tornado that ripped the roof off the Billings Metra. Through it all, though, we always know Beckman as a Butte guy.
