By Newsbreak Producer Matthew Veeran - A new state-of-the-art kitchen in Mount Edgecombe, north of Durban will afford the Pink Room Foundation a platform to help address malnutrition in the province. The brainchild of businesswomen Cristine Pandey, the foundation was established less than two years ago by hand delivering sandwiches to schools across the province. It grew over the years, delivering a total of 107,000 sandwiches to date. Thanks to the help of a number of sponsors, the R2.5-million "Pink Kitchen" will produce nutritious vegetable and meat meals. Pandey says the blast chilled, packed and frozen meals will be ready for distribution to schools in the third week of January. She says they hope to deliver up to 160,000 meal packs in 2024...
