This has been revealed by Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment Barbara Creecy. Creecy announced an increase in the number of rhinos killed due to poaching last year, compared to the previous year. During 2023, 4-hundred and 99 rhinos were poached across South Africa. The Kruger National Park recorded a thirty-seven percent decrease from 2022. Seventy-eight rhinos were poached here in 2023. Addressing the media in St Lucia in northern KwaZulu-Natal, Creecy says that last year 45 accused rhino poachers and rhino horn traffickers were convicted. Minoshni Pillay has more details.........
