PODCAST - Rich Rosenzweig - Part 1 of 3

from Broadway Drumming 101 · host Clayton Craddock

Rich Rosenzweig is a veteran of 11 Broadway shows and played on many cast recordings. Rich has been the orchestra's drummer for the Kennedy Center Honors for over a decade. He's also played in numerous national and international tours and has been the regular drummer for the Encores! series at New York's City Center.Over the years has also recorded and performed in several progressive jazz ensembles, including his own, the East Down Septet. He teaches privately and has also written four feature screenplays, two of which he is actively shopping. This is, so far, the most extended and most interesting chat I've had with someone I've just met. We talked about all kinds of things, and I introduced the TANGENT ALERT. There are times when I talk to guests and wind up going off on a tangent based on what they say, and I find it interesting. Rich has so many intriguing things to share, so a few of those alerts were in the show.I hope you all enjoy our chat!Clayton Craddock hosts the Broadway Drumming 101 Podcast and Newsletter. He has held the drum chair in several hit broadway and off-broadway musicals, including Tick, tick…BOOM!, Altar Boyz, Memphis The Musical, Lady Day At Emerson's Bar and Grill and Ain’t Too Proud. He is currently working on an ENCORES! production of a revival of The Tap Dance Kid and a new broadway-bound musical called BLISS! Clayton began his career in musicals on a bus-and-truck tour of Footloose and has been a sub drummer on Motown, The Color Purple, Rent, Little Shop of Horrors, Spongebob Squarepants, The Musical, Evita, Cats, and Avenue Q.The Broadway Drumming 101 Instagram page: InstagramThe Broadway Drumming 101 YouTube page: YouTubeFor more about Clayton, click HERE Get full access to Broadway Drumming 101 at broadwaydrumming101.substack.com/subscribe
