But this reality is far from being achieved as statistics point to quite alarming concerns. A recent international study found that up to 80% of South African school children struggle to read by the age of 10 - and many of them cannot read for understanding. Sipumelele Lucwaba from the Right to Read Campaign says while the current literacy problem is a tough pill to swallow, it's never too late to either pick up a book or encourage others to read...
