According to the Constitution, the elections must be held within 90 days of the expiry of the current term of the National Assembly and provincial legislatures, which is expected in mid-May this year. At the weekend the Independent Electoral Commission was robust in what many consider to be the final voter registration weekend drive. But concern remains about poor numbers turning up to register- or vote. In the last General Election voter turnout sank to a record 66%.
