WASHINGTON DC 20MAR2026 Day 21. The war has escaped its original geometry. A U.S. F-35A took the first confirmed combat hit on that airframe by a state adversary. The Navy’s lead carrier is under a criminal sabotage investigation. Unidentified drones overflew the Washington base housing the fourth and sixth in the presidential line of succession — and the base had no legal authority to respond. The International Atomic Energy Agency cannot confirm the location of Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile — meaning the war’s stated aim may already be unachievable, and no one may know it. Two of NATO’s most senior former commanders — French three-star General Michel Yakovleff and British four-star General Sir Richard Shirreff — have issued independent verdicts that are identical: no strategy, no endgame, no coalition command architecture, and America will walk away.
