By Newsbreak Producer Tashlan Naidoo - A recent study has found that programmes aimed at alleviating malnutrition and food insecurity also improved health outcomes, enhanced cognitive development - and saw better educational prospects for children. This is according to the GIBS study which looked into - fast food group, KFC's R2 for hope campaign which raised R644 million since inception 15 years ago. According to Statistics South Africa, around 3.6-million people in the country experienced food insecurity in 2021. GIBS lecturer, Dr Tracey Toefy says such sustainable campaigns also have far reaching impacts on marginalized communities in social and economic upliftment...
