Can you believe it! Welcome back. Tonight I have a treat for you. When I first started podcasting I did so with the particular intent of sharing what I know about critical literacy and engaging you in sharing with me and other listeners your thoughts, comments, questions, connections, issues and teaching practices with regards to critical literacies in and outside of school. As time went on and more and more of you started commenting and offering suggestions from which I have created shows and as I started to develop some wonderful friendships with others in the podcasting community, I began imagining different ways that podcasting could find a place in the world of parenting, teaching, learning and researching. So, for the next while Iacirc;euro;trade;ll be sharing work Iacirc;euro;trade;ve done with classroom teachers, in the courses I teach as well as in my work with Carol Felderman and her second graders. This is actually where I want to start by sharing with you a podcast created by a group of second graders who call themselves 100% Kids. In this show Iacirc;euro;trade;ll play one of their earlier podcasts and then in a subsequent show Iacirc;euro;trade;ll take you behind the scenes to meet Carol and some of her students so that you can hear first hand about how the show was born.
