Losing Light by Barbara GormleyShoveling snow away from my door before dawnI awaken two moose without noticingTwirling around to look up at bright starsI see the smaller one slowly stumble up to its feetWhile the larger one keeps watch on meThey graze a bit in the space I clearedPulling with their lips at the needles of a pine treeTaking their time, they stroll down the drivewayThat’s the same spot where the fox crosses my propertyOn other morningsGlancing quickly across at me The other night at twilight I walked down the drivewayIn a fresh foot of powder, and the full moon greeted me at the roadShining down and lighting up the snowChildren ripping wrapping paper to see what is insideDiscovering each present then settling inOne drawing while she lies on the floor, feet kicking back and forthThe other playing a video game on his phoneWinter in the mountains is darkBut you can still seeSimple, natural ways of beingAnd notice how we are allThat delightfulOur theme song is courtesy of singer-songwriter Brittney Wagner.
