Poilievre Pushes Back Against Carney | Calgary News

Pierre Poilievre is rallying his fractured Conservative caucus ahead of Parliament’s return, demanding answers from PM Mark Carney over a rejected Canada-U.S. trade deal and warning of looming U.S. counter-tariffs. Despite polling lags and internal party turmoil, Poilievre doubles down on his populist message: cutting costs, restoring hard work as the path to prosperity, and tackling housing and food insecurity. He critiques Carney for prioritizing summits over results, while also questioning deeper EU ties—despite polls showing broad Canadian support for closer European cooperation. With the Commons set to reconvene September 21, Poilievre is positioning himself as the voice for everyday Canadians, calling for unity and a return to basics in the fight for Canada’s future.
