Point of no Return by Kai-Anne Clews
from Original Christian Poetry · host Kai-Anne Clews
Point of no Return A branch can only be bent so long, And then it can no longer be reshaped, It grows too thick, it grows too strong, Its posture fixed and change escaped… So too with a human soul estranged, Reaching the obstinacy of sin… It goes past the point of choosing to change, To a point where it can no longer begin… God can forgive any trespass, Indeed, any sinner need only confess. But WE can go beyond being able to regret, WE can lose the ability to ask Him To forgive and to forget… If we dance and sing too long in our dung heap, If we become too beloved of our devils, If we prance and fling too much that is too cheap, We become incapable of attaining to higher levels. Pity the soul that has reached that abyss, Their sinning too precious to repent, Pity them now without any hope or wealth left, Having lost any hope of ascent.
