Niantic has whipped the community into a frenzy since they reduced the interaction distance of stops and gyms. Though this is just an underlying issue. The true issue is that Niantic largely ignores its playerbase. We've said it over and over, but Niantic is an AR technology company first and a game developer second. They have proven this to us many many times in the past 5 years. A lot of the Pokémon GO influencers have banded together to petition Niantic to restore the increased interaction distance and make it permanent especially since they basically said it would be a permanent feature. Niantic made over $100 million in July largely thanks to GO Fest. Ultra unlock 3 is giving us generation 8 Pokémon which seems like a weird move from Niantic.
